Tenumet 500 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults by helping control blood sugar levels. It is a combination antidiabetic medicine containing teneligliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor) and metformin (a biguanide).
It helps control fasting and after-meal blood sugar and lowers the long-term risk of kidney, nerve and heart complications. Take it with food to help reduce stomach upset, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Eat meals at regular times, keep portions of rice, roti and sweets controlled, limit sugary drinks and stay physically active. Check your blood sugar routinely.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney, liver or heart problems, or a history of alcohol dependence, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Tell your doctor if you feel unusually tired, have persistent vomiting, or notice signs of low blood sugar such as shakiness, sweating or confusion. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
