Telpres CT 40/12.5 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults when a single medicine is not enough. Controlling blood pressure helps reduce the long-term risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney problems, and vision damage.
It contains telmisartan and chlorthalidone, which lower blood pressure in two different ways. It can be taken with or without food. Take it as prescribed and continue regularly even if you feel well.
Lifestyle changes support blood pressure control alongside this medicine. These include cutting down on salt, eating more fruit and vegetables, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol. The diuretic component may increase the need to pass urine, particularly early on.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, gout, or diabetes. Because it contains a diuretic, your doctor may monitor your kidney function and electrolytes. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. It is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
