Telmavac CT 40/6.25 Tablet contains two active components:

• Telmisartan (40 mg): This component is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). What it does is selectively block the binding of a substance called angiotensin II to a specific receptor in your body called AT1. This blocking action prevents the narrowing of blood vessels and secretion of a hormone called aldosterone, which in turn leads to widened blood vessels and a decrease in blood pressure.

• Chlorthalidone (6.25 mg): Classified as a thiazide-like diuretic, chlorthalidone increases the excretion of sodium and chloride in your kidneys. This action reduces the volume of blood and consequently, the blood pressure. Additionally, it causes blood vessels to widen and decreases peripheral vascular resistance, further helping to lower blood pressure.
