Sutent 50 MG Capsule is used to manage advanced kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma) when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body or cannot be surgically removed. It belongs to a class of medicines known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors, which work by blocking specific proteins that help cancer cells grow.
In addition to kidney cancer, this medicine can also be used to manage gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) when other treatments haven't worked or cannot be tolerated. It is also prescribed for certain types of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours that have spread or cannot be removed surgically.
The dosage and treatment schedule must be determined by an oncologist based on your specific cancer type and condition. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor about any pre-existing health conditions, such as heart, liver or kidney problems, and all medications you're currently taking. Report any side effects to your doctor promptly, and continue taking the medicine for the entire duration prescribed for optimal results.
