Salbair Transhaler is used to relieve sudden bronchospasm in people with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), easing wheezing, chest tightness and breathlessness so that breathing becomes easier.

Uses of Salbair Transhaler are:

• Asthma: Relieves sudden bronchospasm and wheezing associated with asthma.
• COPD: Eases breathing difficulties linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
• Airway Symptom Relief: Helps relieve chest tightness, coughing and shortness of breath.

Follow these instructions while using Salbair Transhaler:

• Prime the inhaler before first use or if it has not been used for more than 3 days.

• Inhale the medicine orally as per your doctor's instructions.

• Wait at least 1 minute between inhalations if more than one dose is required.

• Rinse your mouth after each inhalation to prevent oral candidiasis (a fungal infection in the mouth).

Salbair Transhaler is administered via an oral inhalation route.

Salbair Transhaler contains levosalbutamol (50mcg), which works on your body as follows:

• Stimulates Beta-2 Receptors: Levosalbutamol acts as a bronchodilator by stimulating the beta-2 receptors present in your lungs. These receptors play a vital role in controlling the relaxation and constriction of the airway muscles.

• Activates Adenylyl Cyclase: Upon stimulating the beta-2 receptors, levosalbutamol leads to the activation of an enzyme called adenylyl cyclase. This enzyme catalyses the conversion of ATP to cyclic AMP.

• Increases Cyclic AMP Levels: The increased levels of cyclic AMP in your body contribute to the relaxation of the bronchial smooth muscles. This action results in the dilation of the airways, making it easier for you to breathe.

• Store Salbair Transhaler at room temperature, ideally below 30 degrees Celsius.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Do not puncture or burn the canister, even when it seems empty.

• Keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Make sure you use the product before its expiry date.
