Salbair Transcaps 30

SALBAIR TRANSCAPS 30 is used for the following:

• Management of bronchospasm in asthma
• Management of COPD
• Relief of reversible obstructive airway diseases
• Easing chest tightness in respiratory conditions
• Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm
• Maintenance therapy for recurring breathing problems
• Emergency relief during acute breathing attacks
• Long-term control of breathing difficulties
• Improvement of lung function in airway disorders

Follow these instructions when using SALBAIR TRANSCAPS 30:

• Hold the Lupihaler vertically and twist the mouthpiece to separate it from the base.
• Place one SALBAIR TRANSCAPS 30 into the chamber at the base of the Rotahaler. Do not swallow the capsule.
• Reattach the mouthpiece by twisting it back onto the base until it clicks into place.
• Hold the Rotahaler horizontally and twist the mouthpiece in both directions. This action pierces the capsule, making the medicine ready for inhalation.
• Breathe out fully, place the mouthpiece between your lips, and inhale deeply and forcefully through your mouth to draw the powder into your lungs.
• Open the device to check if any powder remains in the capsule. If so, close it again and repeat inhalation until the capsule is completely empty. Dispose of the used capsule after use.

SALBAIR TRANSCAPS 30 is administered via inhalation.

SALBAIR TRANSCAPS 30 contains levosalbutamol (100 mcg), which works as follows:

• Selective Beta2-Adrenergic Stimulation: Levosalbutamol specifically targets and activates beta2-adrenergic receptors found in your lungs. These receptors are proteins that respond to certain chemicals in your body.
• Bronchial Smooth Muscle Relaxation: When inhaled, levosalbutamol causes the smooth muscles surrounding the airways to relax and widen, making it easier to breathe.
• Increased Airflow: By widening the airways, the medicine increases the flow of air into and out of the lungs, helping to relieve symptoms like wheezing and shortness of breath.
• Reduced Inflammatory Mediator Release: Levosalbutamol may help decrease the release of substances from mast cells that can trigger inflammation and narrowing of the airways.

• Store at room temperature (below 30°C).
• Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.
• Use within 3 months of opening the foil pouch.
• Discard any unused solution after each use.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Avoid smoking and stay away from smoky environments, as these can trigger bronchospasm (sudden tightening of airway muscles) and worsen respiratory conditions.
• Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day to help keep mucus thin, making it easier to clear your airways when you have asthma or COPD.
