CompositionRozustat 10 Tablet is used to treat high cholesterol and mixed blood fats in adults and to help protect against heart attack and stroke. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing rosuvastatin 10mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called statins.
This medicine lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides, raises HDL (good) cholesterol, and helps slow the narrowing of arteries caused by fatty deposits. It is also used in people with inherited high cholesterol. Take one tablet a day, at the same time, with or without food, and continue as prescribed even when you feel well.
Swapping fried and processed foods for vegetables, whole grains, pulses and fish, staying active, keeping a healthy weight and avoiding tobacco all help lower cholesterol.
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, an underactive thyroid, muscle problems, diabetes, or drink a lot of alcohol, and about other medicines you take, especially ciclosporin, fibrates and blood thinners. Your doctor may check your liver and cholesterol with blood tests. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially with fever or dark urine, straight away. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
