It contains rizatriptan, which belongs to a class of medicines called selective serotonin receptor agonists (triptans). It is meant to treat a migraine attack once it starts, not to prevent migraines. Let the tablet dissolve on your tongue as prescribed, without water. Take it as soon as you notice migraine symptoms for the best effect.
Identifying and avoiding your personal migraine triggers, such as certain foods, stress, poor sleep, or bright lights, can help reduce how often you need this medicine. Resting in a quiet, dark room during an attack may also help.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or a history of stroke. Contact your doctor promptly if you experience chest pain or pressure, or tightness in the throat or jaw, after taking this medicine.
