Pruwel 2 Tablet 10

PRUWEL 2 Tablet is used for the management of chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) in adults, where bowel movements are infrequent or incomplete without an identifiable cause.

Uses of PRUWEL 2 Tablet 10 are:

• Chronic Idiopathic Constipation: Increases bowel movement frequency in adults with chronic constipation not responding to other laxatives.

Follow these instructions while taking Pruwel 2 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not chew or crush the tablet.
• Take the medicine according to your doctor's instructions.
• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.
• Inform your doctor about all other medicines you are currently taking.

Pruwel 2 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Pruwel 2 Tablet 10 contains prucalopride (2 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Selective 5-HT4 receptor agonist: Prucalopride stimulates the 5-HT4 receptors in the gastrointestinal tract. These receptors play a significant role in controlling gut movement.
• Enhances acetylcholine release: By stimulating these receptors, prucalopride indirectly enhances the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that regulates gut motility.
• Promotes peristalsis: The increased release of acetylcholine promotes peristalsis, which involves the contraction and relaxation of intestinal muscles, propelling the contents of the gut forward. This action accelerates gastrointestinal transit and facilitates bowel movements.

• Safeguard the medicine from exposure to direct sunlight, heat, and moisture.
