Pioz V Tablet 15

Pioz-V Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

• Improving glycemic control as an adjunct to diet and exercise

• Reducing blood glucose levels by improving insulin sensitivity

• Minimising the risk of diabetes-related complications

Follow these instructions while taking Pioz-V Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Try to take it at the same time each day.

Pioz-V Tablet is taken orally.

Pioz-V Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Vildagliptin (50 mg): As a type of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, vildagliptin prevents the breakdown of incretin hormones, which are crucial for regulating blood sugar levels. This leads to prolonged activity of these hormones, which then enhances insulin secretion from the pancreas and suppresses glucagon release. This dual action helps lower both fasting and post-meal blood sugar levels.

• Pioglitazone (15 mg): This ingredient falls under the thiazolidinedione class of antidiabetic agents. By activating certain nuclear receptors in the body, pioglitazone enhances insulin sensitivity. This ensures the cells increase their glucose uptake and utilisation while the liver reduces glucose production.

• Store at room temperature below 30°C.

• Protect from moisture and light to maintain the medicine's efficacy.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Physical activity helps improve your body's insulin sensitivity, which is beneficial for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily.

• Focus on consuming a balanced diet rich in whole grains, lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables. Minimise your intake of processed foods high in sugar and unhealthy fats, as these can worsen your blood sugar control.
