CompositionParkin Tablet is used to manage tremor, muscle stiffness and rigidity in Parkinson's disease. It is a single-ingredient anticholinergic medicine containing trihexyphenidyl.
It is also used to control involuntary movements caused by antipsychotic or other medicines (extrapyramidal symptoms). The dose is usually started low and increased gradually. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop it suddenly.
Drink enough fluids and eat fibre-rich foods such as vegetables, fruit and whole grains to prevent constipation, sip water for a dry mouth, and avoid overheating in hot weather.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, difficulty passing urine, an enlarged prostate or memory problems and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Older people are more sensitive to its effects. Report difficulty passing urine, worsening confusion or overheating in hot weather. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
