Paldela Injection 10 Ml is used to manage iron deficiency anaemia in people who cannot tolerate oral iron supplements or have not responded satisfactorily to them. It is a single-ingredient intravenous iron preparation containing ferric carboxymaltose.
It replenishes the body's iron stores, which are needed to make haemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. It is given into a vein by a healthcare professional in a clinical setting, where you are usually monitored afterwards, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Include iron-rich foods such as green leafy vegetables, dal, beans and dried fruit in your diet, and attend the follow-up blood tests your doctor advises.
Before it is given, tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to intravenous iron, or if you have liver disease, an active infection or are in the first trimester of pregnancy and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report unusual tiredness, palpitations or breathlessness during or after the infusion. Follow the prescribed treatment plan, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not end treatment unless your doctor advises you to do so.
