Omnacortil-2.5 Tablet is used to treat a range of conditions including severe allergic reactions, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, skin and eye disorders, and nephrotic syndrome. It contains prednisolone, a corticosteroid that works by reducing inflammation and calming an overactive immune system.
This is a dispersible tablet, best taken with meals to help avoid stomach upset. Take it at the same time each day, as prescribed by your doctor. Continue taking this medicine even if you feel well, and do not stop suddenly, as this can be harmful; your doctor will advise how to reduce the dose gradually.
A diet with adequate calcium and vitamin D, along with weight-bearing exercise, can help protect your bones while taking this medicine. Limiting salt and sugar intake may also help manage some of its effects.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have diabetes, osteoporosis, infections, or stomach ulcers. Tell your doctor if you notice mood changes, unusual weight gain, or signs of infection such as fever. This medicine should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
