Olsertain-20 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure in adults.

Olsertain-20 Tablet contains olmesartan medoxomil (20 mg). Its primary mechanisms of action are:

• Angiotensin II Receptor Blockage: Olmesartan medoxomil, after getting converted to olmesartan during absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, selectively blocks the AT1 receptor subtype. This blockage inhibits the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that can increase blood pressure.

• Blood Vessel Relaxation: By blocking the effects of angiotensin II, olmesartan aids in the relaxation of the blood vessels, leading to a decrease in peripheral resistance and a reduction in blood pressure.

• No Impact on Bradykinin Response: Unlike some other blood pressure medicines, olmesartan doesn't inhibit an enzyme called ACE (kininase II) which is involved in the response to bradykinin. Hence, it doesn't affect the body's response to this protein which can cause blood vessels to dilate.

• Store Olsertain-20 Tablet at room temperature below 30°C.
