Olkem-20 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in both adults and children above 6 years. It works by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow, either as a standalone treatment or in combination with other antihypertensive medications for comprehensive control.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• It can be taken with or without food, as per your comfort.

Olkem-20 Tablet consists of olmesartan medoxomil (20 mg), which works as follows:

• Conversion to Active Form: Olmesartan medoxomil is a prodrug, which means it is converted into its active form—olmesartan—during absorption from the gut.

• Blocking Angiotensin II: Olmesartan blocks the binding of a substance called angiotensin II to specific receptors (AT1 receptors) in the smooth muscle lining your blood vessels.

• Relaxing Blood Vessels: Olmesartan helps relax and widen blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II, which has a tightening effect.

• Lowering Blood Pressure: This action reduces blood pressure, making it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body.

• Store Olkem-20 Tablet in a cool, dry place, ideally at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and excessive moisture.

• Ensure the medicine is kept out of sight and reach of children.
