Olmesar M 25 Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). By combining two different medicine classes, it relaxes blood vessels and slows down the heart rate, reducing the workload on the heart and helping it pump blood more efficiently.
It contains olmesartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and metoprolol succinate extended-release, a beta-blocker. Swallow the tablet whole with food as prescribed; do not crush or chew extended-release tablets. Take it at the same time every day and do not stop taking it suddenly, as abrupt withdrawal of beta-blockers can cause a sudden surge in blood pressure or heart problems.
Complementary lifestyle changes are essential for managing hypertension. These include eating a salt-restricted diet, exercising regularly, keeping a healthy weight, and managing stress as advised by your doctor.
Tell your doctor if you have asthma, slow heart rate, heart block, liver or kidney disease, diabetes, or circulation problems before starting this medicine. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor will regularly check your pulse and blood pressure during treatment.
