Octride Depot 30mg Injection 1 is used in adults for the long-term treatment of certain hormone-related disorders and tumour-related symptoms. It belongs to the class of medicines known as somatostatin analogues.
It is used for conditions such as acromegaly (excess growth hormone), severe diarrhoea and flushing episodes associated with metastatic carcinoid tumours, and profuse watery diarrhoea due to vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) secreting tumours. By controlling these symptoms, it improves quality of life and reduces complications associated with hormone-secreting tumours.
Before starting treatment, your doctor will decide the dose and duration based on your clinical condition, tolerance to previous therapies, and your liver and kidney health. If you notice unusual side effects or changes during therapy, you should seek immediate medical advice.
