Obimet GX1 Tablet is primarily used for the following:

• Improving blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes

• Reducing the risk of serious diabetes complications, such as kidney damage

• Preventing nerve problems associated with diabetes

• Lowering the chance of limb amputations due to diabetes

• Aiding in the management of sexual dysfunction problems caused by diabetes.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Always take this medicine as per your doctor's advice.

• Do not adjust your dosage without discussing it with your doctor.

Obimet GX1 Tablet is taken orally.

Obimet GX1 Tablet has two active ingredients that work in tandem to control blood sugar levels:

• Glimepiride (1 mg): This medium-to-long-acting sulfonylurea lowers blood glucose levels by stimulating pancreatic beta cells to release more insulin. It also increases the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin, making them more receptive to absorbing glucose from the bloodstream.

• Metformin (500 mg): This biguanide reduces intestinal absorption of glucose and suppresses liver glucose production. It enhances insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization. Unlike sulfonylureas such as glimepiride, metformin does not lead to hypoglycemia in patients or healthy subjects.

• Store Obimet GX1 Tablet in a cool, dry place where the temperature stays below 30°C.

• Keep it away from direct light and moisture.
