Nixidox Capsule is used for the following:

• Managing respiratory tract infections

• Management of urinary tract infections

• Reducing the symptoms of acne

• Control of sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia, gonorrhoea, and syphilis

• Managing rosacea: a skin condition that causes facial redness and pimples

• Management of Lyme disease: an infection caused by ticks

• Protection against anthrax: a serious bacterial illness

• Control of cholera: a bacterial disease causing severe diarrhoea and dehydration

• Prophylaxis for malaria: to prevent this mosquito-borne infectious disease.

Follow these instructions while taking Nixidox Capsule:

1. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

2. Avoid crushing or opening the capsule.

3. It's important not to lie down immediately after taking this medicine to prevent irritation in your food pipe.

4. Remember, taking the capsule with food or milk can help reduce stomach upset.

5. For specific dose advice, it's always best to consult your doctor.

Nixidox Capsule is taken orally.

The Nixidox Capsule contains two active ingredients:

• Doxycycline (100 mg): This tetracycline antibiotic exhibits bacteriostatic activity. It works by binding to a part of bacteria called the 30S ribosomal subunit. This prevents a process known as protein synthesis, which bacteria need to grow and multiply.

• Lactobacillus acidophilus (5 billion CFUs): This beneficial probiotic bacteria is naturally found in the human gut. Its role during antibiotic treatment is important, as it helps restore the balance of good bacteria that may be effected by antibiotics like doxycycline. This action helps in reducing digestive side effects and preventing additional infections.

• Store Nixidox Capsule at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Ensure the storage area is safe from direct light and moisture.

• Always keep the medicine out of reach of children.

• Use the medicine within its expiry date.

• If you are taking Nixidox Capsule for urinary tract infections, keep well-hydrated. Drinking plenty of water can help flush bacteria out of your system.

• For respiratory infections, consider a balanced diet rich in vitamin C to boost your immune system. Foods like oranges, strawberries, and bell peppers can be beneficial.
