Nicomalom 2 Tablet is used to prevent and treat harmful blood clots, such as in the deep veins (DVT) and lungs (pulmonary embolism), to reduce the risk of clot-related stroke in an irregular heartbeat or heart valve disorders, and to prevent clots after certain surgery.
It contains acenocoumarol, an anticoagulant that thins the blood. It works by blocking vitamin K, which the body needs to form clots.
Take it once a day at the same time as prescribed, and do not stop it without medical advice. Regular blood tests (INR) check how thin your blood is, so the dose can be adjusted. Keep your intake of vitamin-K-rich foods (such as green leafy vegetables) steady.
Because it thins the blood, you may bruise or bleed more easily. Tell your doctor about all other medicines, as many interact, and tell any doctor or dentist before procedures. Report black or bloody stools, blood in the urine, unusual bruising, or a severe headache.
