Nebracin Eye/skin Ointment 5gm is used to:

• Treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis
• Management of eyelid infections caused by susceptible bacteria
• Relief from redness, swelling, and discharge associated with bacterial eye infections
• Control of local bacterial growth under specialist supervision

Follow these instructions while using Nebracin Eye/skin Ointment 5gm:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the ointment.
• For the eyes: Tilt your head back slightly and gently pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pouch. Apply a thin ribbon of ointment into the affected eye. Close your eye gently to allow the medicine to spread and avoid blinking excessively. Wipe away any excess ointment from around the eye with a clean tissue.
• For the skin: Clean and dry the affected area before application. Apply a thin layer of ointment over the infected skin and gently rub it in.
• Avoid touching the tip of the tube to your eye, skin, or any other surface to prevent contamination.
• Use the medicine for the full duration prescribed, even if symptoms improve.
• Do not discontinue treatment without consulting your doctor.

Nebracin Eye/skin Ointment 5gm contain Tobramycin (0.3%), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Inhibits Bacterial Protein Synthesis: Tobramycin blocks the process that bacteria use to create proteins essential for their growth and reproduction.
• Alters Cell Membrane Permeability: By interfering with protein synthesis, Tobramycin weakens the bacterial cell membrane, making it more permeable.
• Leads to Cell Death: As a result of altered cell membrane permeability and disruption of the cell envelope, the bacterial cells eventually die, thereby reducing the bacterial infection in your eyes.

• Store Nebracin Eye/skin Ointment 5gm at room temperature.
• Keep away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
• Ensure the container is always tightly sealed to prevent air exposure.
• Keep well out of reach of children.

• Maintain good eye hygiene. Regularly clean your eyes with a clean, soft cloth to keep them free from dust and debris that could cause infections.
• Avoid wearing contact lenses when you have symptoms of an eye infection. This can exacerbate the condition by trapping bacteria against your eye.
