Tobastar Eye Drops 5ml

Tobastar Eye Drops are used to treat various bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis and keratitis. These drops effectively reduce discharge, redness, and eye discomfort, and are also utilized as a preventative measure against bacterial infections in newborns.

To use Tobastar Eye Drops properly:

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the dropper above the eye with the tip down and squeeze out a drop.

• Close your eyes for 2 to 3 minutes with your head tipped down, without blinking or squinting.

• If you're using more than one drop in the same eye, wait about 5 minutes before putting in the next drop.

Tobastar Eye Drops is instilled topically.

Tobastar Eye Drops contain two active ingredients:

• Tobramycin (0.3%): As an aminoglycoside antibiotic, Tobramycin works by binding irreversibly to the 30S and 50S ribosomal subunits within the bacterial cell. These subunits are responsible for protein synthesis in bacteria. By disrupting this process, Tobramycin alters cell membrane permeability and eventually leads to cell death.

• Phenylmercuric Nitrate (0.001%): This ingredient acts as an antimicrobial preservative in the formulation. It helps prevent the growth of microorganisms that might be introduced during use and has antiseptic and weak bacteriostatic properties.

• Store Tobastar Eye Drops at a temperature below 30°C.
• Ensure the drops are kept shielded from light and moisture.
• Always keep the bottle tightly shut when not in use.

• If you're dealing with an eye infection, avoid touching your eyes with dirty hands. Regular hand washing can reduce the chances of spreading bacteria to your eyes.

• Eating a diet rich in vitamins A, C, and E can support overall eye health. Include foods like leafy greens, citrus fruits, and nuts in your diet to help manage eye conditions.
