Paracain Ophthalmic Solution 5ml is used to:

• Provide temporary numbness of the eye
• Reduce pain during eye examinations
• Reduce discomfort during minor ophthalmic procedures
• Support comfortable diagnostic eye procedures

Follow these instructions while using Paracain Ophthalmic Solution 5ml:

• This medicine is administered by an eye specialist or healthcare professional during eye examination or minor procedures.
• The number of drops and frequency are determined by the doctor, depending on the procedure.
• Do not use this medicine on your own unless specifically instructed by a doctor.
• Avoid touching or rubbing the eyes until normal sensation returns after the numbing effect wears off.

Paracain Ophthalmic Solution 5ml is for topical ophthalmic use only. 

Paracain Ophthalmic Solution 5ml contains the following active components:

• Chlorbutol (0.5%): It acts mainly as an antimicrobial preservative that helps prevent bacterial contamination of the eye drop solution. This helps maintain sterility and stability of the formulation during use.
• Proparacaine (0.5%): This is a local anaesthetic that works by blocking sodium ion channels in nerve membranes of the cornea and conjunctiva. This prevents nerve signal transmission and produces temporary numbness of the eye, reducing pain and discomfort during eye examinations or procedures.

• Store below 25–30°C as directed on the label.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed.
• Protect from light and contamination.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date.
