Megamentin-625 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, skin, urinary tract, and teeth. It is also prescribed with other medicines for Helicobacter pylori infections, helping control bacterial growth and support effective recovery.

Here is how you should take Megamentin-625 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet as a whole with a glass of water.

• You can take it with or without food.

• Don't crush or chew the tablet.

• Never exceed the dose recommended by your doctor.

• Stopping this medication without your doctor's advice is not recommended.

Megamentin-625 Tablet is taken orally.

Megamentin-625 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Amoxicillin (500 mg): This penicillin-type antibiotic works by inhibiting enzymes involved in bacterial cell wall synthesis. By binding to and inactivating these enzymes called penicillin-binding proteins, it disrupts cell wall formation which leads to the destruction of the bacterial cells.

• Clavulanic Acid (125 mg): This component acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Certain bacteria produce these beta-lactamases that can inactivate amoxicillin. Clavulanic Acid binds to these enzymes and inhibits them. This ensures that amoxicillin remains active against bacteria that would otherwise be resistant to it.

• Keep your Megamentin-625 Tablet at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

• Store in a cool, dark place away from direct light and moisture.

• Always ensure the container is tightly sealed to shield it from air exposure.

• Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

• Check the expiry date and use it before it passes to ensure effectiveness.

• If you have a respiratory infection, try to avoid smoking or being around second-hand smoke as this can aggravate your condition. Breathing clean air will help manage your symptoms better.

• For those with urinary tract infections, increase your water intake. Drinking plenty of fluids can help flush bacteria out of your system, aiding in managing the infection.
