Maxnif Retard 20 Mg Tablet Sr 15 is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to help prevent angina (chest pain) in adults. Keeping blood pressure under control lowers the risk of serious complications such as heart attack and stroke, particularly in people at high risk.
It belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers. It relaxes and widens the blood vessels so blood can flow more easily, easing the heart's workload. Swallow the tablet whole and take it as prescribed; continue taking it even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight and limiting alcohol can support better blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any heart or liver problems or other medicines you take. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice, as they can affect how it works. Tell your doctor if mild ankle swelling, flushing or headache persist, especially when starting treatment.
