Lupride 1 mg Injection is used to manage hormone-dependent conditions, including prostate cancer, endometriosis and uterine fibroids, under specialist supervision.

Lupride 1 mg Injection is administered subcutaneously (under the skin).

• The main active ingredient in Lupride 1 mg Injection is Leuprolide acetate. It is a synthetic hormone that acts as a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist. Its activity primarily involves the suppression of certain sex hormones.
• Leuprolide works by initially stimulating the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormones from the hypothalamus in the brain. It leads to increased levels of luteinising hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland.
• The continual use of leuprolide causes a reduction in the number of GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland. As a result, the production of LH and FSH is significantly reduced. It causes a reduction in the production of sex hormones like testosterone and oestrogen.
