Leptomate 25 Tablet is a medicine used to manage epileptic seizures in adults and children. It is also used in combination therapy for Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy, and to prevent migraine headaches in adults and adolescents aged 12 and above.
It contains topiramate, an anticonvulsant that works by stabilising abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Take it with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Continue taking it regularly and do not stop suddenly, as this may increase the frequency of seizures.
Staying well hydrated and avoiding excess alcohol can help reduce certain side effects while you are on this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, a history of depression, glaucoma, or are taking other medicines, including hormonal birth control. It may increase the risk of birth defects if taken during early pregnancy, so discuss contraception with your doctor if you could become pregnant.
