Lasix Injection is used to treat fluid retention (oedema) caused by heart, liver or kidney disorders, and to relieve breathing difficulty from fluid overload, such as fluid on the lungs. It is also used to help manage high blood pressure and high blood calcium.
It contains furosemide, a loop diuretic. It works by helping the kidneys remove excess salt and water, which clears fluid quickly.
It is given by a healthcare professional so the dose can be controlled and you can be monitored.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or heart problems and other medicines before treatment. Your doctor may check your hydration, blood salts and kidney function.
