Koact 1000/200mg Injection is used to treat moderate to severe bacterial infections in the lungs, skin, ears, urinary tract, abdomen, bones and joints, especially when resistant bacteria are suspected. It is a combination medicine containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.
It combines a penicillin antibiotic with a beta-lactamase inhibitor, allowing it to act against a wider range of bacteria. It is given by a doctor, often chosen when oral treatment may not be suitable due to poor absorption or severe illness.
Completing the entire treatment course as advised helps clear the infection completely and helps prevent resistance.
Tell your doctor about any allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics or liver or kidney problems. Do not stop this treatment unless your doctor advises you to do so.
