Kenacort Cream 15gm

Kenacort Skin Cream is used for managing the following conditions:

• Atopic dermatitis, a type of skin inflammation causing itchy, red skin.

• Contact dermatitis, which is skin irritation due to contact with certain substances.

• Seborrheic dermatitis, a chronic form of eczema that affects the sebaceous glands.

• Psoriasis, a skin disorder causing red patches covered with silvery scales.

• Eczema, a common condition resulting in dry and itchy skin patches.

Here's how to use Kenacort Skin Cream:

• Clean the affected area gently before applying the cream.

• Apply a thin layer of the cream on the area as directed by your doctor.

• Remember to wash your hands before and after application unless your hands are in the treatment area.

• Be careful to avoid getting the cream into your eyes or mouth. If this happens, rinse thoroughly with water and consult your doctor if the irritation persists.

• Do not cover the treated area with bandages or other coverings unless advised by your doctor.

Kenacort Skin Cream is applied topically.

Kenacort Skin Cream contains triamcinolone (0.1%), which acts in the following ways:

• Binding to Glucocorticoid Receptor: Triamcinolone binds to a specific receptor in the cell called the glucocorticoid receptor. This binding action forms a complex that moves into the nucleus of the cell.

• Anti-inflammatory Protein Production: Once inside the nucleus, this complex attaches itself to parts of the DNA known as glucocorticoid response elements. This triggers the production of proteins that have anti-inflammatory properties.

• Suppression of Pro-Inflammatory Proteins: Simultaneously, triamcinolone also suppresses proteins that promote inflammation.

• Inhibition of Arachidonic Acid Release: The cream reduces inflammation by inhibiting the release of arachidonic acid from cell membranes.

• Store Kenacort Skin Cream at room temperature not exceeding 25°C.

• Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and moisture.

• Do not freeze.

• Keep it in its original container, tightly closed.

• Always keep the cream out of children's reach.

• If you're managing psoriasis with Kenacort Skin Cream, reducing alcohol intake might help. Alcohol can trigger flare-ups and may also lessen the effectiveness of medications.

• For conditions like eczema or dermatitis, avoid wearing tight, synthetic clothing. Natural fabrics, such as cotton, can allow your skin to breathe and minimise irritation.
