Inderal LA 40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure, angina, certain heart rhythm problems and to prevent migraine. It is a single-ingredient beta-blocker containing propranolol in a long-acting form.
It may also be prescribed for tremor, anxiety symptoms or other specialist uses. Swallow it whole at the same time each day, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause heart rate or blood pressure to rise sharply.
Checking your blood pressure and pulse as advised, reducing salt, managing stress and avoiding smoking support treatment with this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor about asthma, a very slow heartbeat, heart failure, diabetes or circulation problems, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Seek urgent care for fainting, severe wheezing or marked breathing difficulty. Ask your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
