Provanol SR 40 Tablet is used to control high blood pressure, manage angina (chest pain), treat certain heart rhythm disorders, reduce symptoms of anxiety and tremor, help prevent migraine headaches, and lower the risk of a further heart attack.
It contains propranolol, a non-selective beta-blocker. Take it as prescribed, generally at the same time each day; swallow the tablet whole without chewing or crushing. Do not stop it suddenly without medical advice, as this can worsen your condition.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active within your doctor's advice, and keeping to all monitoring appointments support better heart health alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any asthma or COPD before starting, as propranolol is not suitable in these conditions. Also tell your doctor about diabetes, a very slow heart rate, or Raynaud's disease. Report worsening breathlessness, marked dizziness, or unusually cold hands and feet.
