Huminsulin R Injection is used for the management of diabetes mellitus. It is a short-acting (regular) insulin that works quickly to help the body process sugar from meals and lower high blood sugar levels. Consistent use helps maintain the body's metabolic balance and prevents severe diabetes-related complications.

Please follow these instructions when administering Huminsulin R Injection:

• Administer Huminsulin R Injection under the skin (subcutaneously) as directed by your doctor.

• Ensure you inject the medicine 30 minutes before a meal.

• Make sure you rotate the injection sites to avoid skin changes and irritation.

• Always handle and store the medicine correctly. Keep it at room temperature (below 30°C) once opened and use it within 28 days.

Huminsulin R Injection is administered via a subcutaneous route.

Huminsulin R Injection contains three active ingredients:

• Glycerin (16 mg): This component acts as a humectant. It attracts water to the skin, helping to maintain skin moisture and prevent dryness.

• M Cresol (2.5 mg): It acts as a preservative, preventing the growth of bacteria and fungi in the injection solution.

• Human Insulin of rDNA Origin (40 IU): This is the primary active ingredient that mimics the function of natural insulin in your body. It helps regulate glucose metabolism by facilitating the uptake of glucose into fat, liver, and skeletal muscle cells. Additionally, it suppresses glucose production in the liver and reduces the breakdown of fats and proteins. The insulin derived from recombinant DNA technology provides a rapid onset of action for immediate blood sugar control and ensures a gradual, sustained release to maintain glucose levels effectively throughout the day.

• Store the unopened Huminsulin R Injection vials in a refrigerator, maintaining a temperature between 2°C to 8°C.

• Once opened, you can keep the vial at room temperature, below 30°C, for up to 28 days.

• Keep the vial away from direct heat and light.

• Ensure that this medicine is kept out of reach of children.

• Always check the expiry date and use the product before this date.

• Regular physical activity helps in maintaining blood sugar levels. However, avoid doing excessive physical activities as it might lead to hypoglycemia, a condition where your blood sugar gets too low.
