Hifenac-MR Tablet is used to relieve pain, inflammation, and muscle spasm affecting the joints and muscles. It is commonly prescribed for conditions such as lower back pain, neck pain, spondylitis, sprains, and joint injuries where both pain and muscle tightness are present.
It contains aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, paracetamol, which relieves pain and reduces fever, and chlorzoxazone, a muscle relaxant that helps reduce muscle spasm and stiffness. Take the tablet as prescribed by your doctor, preferably with food to reduce the risk of stomach upset. This medicine may cause drowsiness, so avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
Gentle physiotherapy, stretching, and rest during recovery can support the effect of this medicine. Avoid prolonged bed rest, as light activity within your pain limits is generally recommended for musculoskeletal conditions.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any stomach, kidney, liver, or heart problems, or are taking blood thinners or other anti-inflammatory medicines. Avoid alcohol during treatment, as it increases drowsiness and the risk of stomach problems. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester. Tell your doctor if you experience unusual stomach pain or notice any change in urine colour.
