CompositionGrilinctus-L Suspension is used to relieve a dry, tickly cough that does not bring up mucus. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing levocloperastine, which belongs to a class of medicines called cough suppressants (antitussives).
This medicine is used for dry cough linked to throat irritation, the common cold, bronchitis and other upper respiratory infections. It helps calm the urge to cough without causing marked drowsiness in most people. Shake well and measure each dose with the cup provided, taking it as prescribed by your doctor.
Sipping warm water, gargling with salt water and drinking plenty of fluids can help soothe a tickly throat. Avoiding smoke, dust and cold air may reduce the urge to cough.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a cough with a lot of mucus, asthma, or kidney or liver disease, and about other medicines you take. It is not suitable for children below 2 years of age. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if the cough lasts more than 2 weeks, comes with fever, breathlessness or chest pain, or if you cough up blood. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
