Gluformin G1 New Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Glimepiride (1 mg): As a medium-to-long-acting sulfonylurea, glimepiride aids in reducing blood sugar by stimulating the pancreas to secrete more insulin. It binds to receptors in pancreatic cells, encouraging insulin release resulting in lower blood glucose levels.

• Metformin (500 mg): Released over 24 hours due to its extended-release characteristic, metformin decreases intestinal absorption of glucose and reduces hepatic glucose production. It enhances insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilisation. This action helps manage weight and does not cause hypoglycaemia or hyperinsulinaemia.
