Glibenclamide (2.5 mg): This second-generation sulfonylurea stimulates more insulin secretion from the pancreatic beta cells by binding to and inhibiting ATP-sensitive potassium channels on the pancreatic beta cell membrane. This action leads to cell membrane depolarization and increased intracellular calcium, stimulating insulin secretion.
Metformin (400 mg): As a biguanide, metformin operates by decreasing hepatic glucose production and intestinal absorption of glucose whilst enhancing insulin sensitivity. This improves glucose uptake and utilisation in the body's periphery. Metformin activates AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a liver enzyme that plays a significant role in insulin signalling and the metabolism of glucose and fats.

Pregnancy

Glucored Tablet is contraindicated during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, make sure to discuss this with your doctor before starting this medicine.

Breastfeeding
