Forglyn Inhaler is used for:

• Long-term maintenance of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a lung condition that causes breathing difficulties.

• Management of symptoms associated with chronic bronchitis, a type of COPD characterised by inflammation and narrowing of the bronchial tubes.

• Control of emphysema symptoms, another type of COPD where air sacs in the lungs are damaged, making it hard to breathe.

• Reduction of COPD exacerbations, which are flare-ups or sudden worsening of symptoms.

Administer Forglyn Inhaler as follows:

• Remove the cap from the inhaler and check for any visible dust or foreign objects.

• Shake the inhaler well before each use to mix the medicine inside.

• Take a deep breath out, put the mouthpiece into your mouth, and close your lips around it.

• Breathe in slowly while pressing down on the top of the inhaler to release one dose of medicine.

• Hold your breath for about 10 seconds then breathe out slowly.

• After using the inhaler, rinse your mouth with water to prevent potential side effects in your mouth or throat.

Forglyn Inhaler operates through two active components:

• Glycopyrrolate / Glycopyrronium (9 mcg): This long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) works by blocking muscarinic receptors in the smooth muscles of your airways. By doing so, it prevents acetylcholine from causing bronchoconstriction, a tightening of the airway muscles. Glycopyrrolate has a higher affinity for M3 receptors responsible for bronchoconstriction than for M2 receptors, thus providing targeted relaxation of the airways.

• Formoterol Fumarate (4.8 mcg): As a long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA), this component stimulates beta2-adrenergic receptors in your lungs. This action relaxes the smooth muscles around your airways, causing them to dilate or widen an effect that lasts for 12 hours or more.

• Store your Forglyn Inhaler at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Avoid exposing the inhaler to extreme heat or freezing conditions.
