CompositionELTROMAG 25 Tablet is used to increase platelet counts in adults with chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), severe aplastic anaemia, and chronic hepatitis C-associated thrombocytopenia. It belongs to a class of medicines known as thrombopoietin receptor agonists.
Eltrombopag works by stimulating the bone marrow to produce more platelets, which helps reduce the risk of bleeding in people whose platelet counts are low due to ITP, aplastic anaemia, or hepatitis C-related conditions.
Take this tablet daily, on an empty stomach, at least one hour before or two hours after food, and avoid taking it with dairy products, calcium-fortified juices, or antacids, as these reduce absorption.
Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, as your dose may need adjustment and your liver function will be monitored during treatment. Report any unusual bruising, bleeding, or signs of a blood clot such as leg swelling or chest pain promptly.
