Finacet 5 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia

• Managing urinary symptoms from an enlarged prostate

• Improving urine flow in men with prostate problems

• Reducing the need for prostate surgery

• Shrinking the enlarged prostate gland

• Managing male pattern hair loss

• Promoting hair regrowth on the scalp

• Slowing the progression of androgenic alopecia

• Preventing further hair thinning in men

Follow these instructions while taking Finacet 5 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Take it at the same time each day for the best results.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly as prescribed.

• Consult your doctor if you have questions about using this medicine.

Finacet 5 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Finacet 5 Tablet 10 contains finasteride (5 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Inhibits 5α-Reductase Enzyme: Finasteride selectively blocks an enzyme called type II 5α-reductase, which is found in the prostate gland, liver, and skin.

• Reduces DHT Production: By inhibiting the 5α-reductase enzyme, finasteride prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that contributes to prostate enlargement and hair loss.

• Shrinks Enlarged Prostate: The reduction in DHT levels causes the prostate to shrink, which helps improve urinary symptoms like weak urine flow and frequent urination.

• Promotes Hair Regrowth: Lower DHT levels in the scalp help to slow down hair loss and encourage new hair growth by preventing follicular miniaturisation.
