CompositionDoxt-SL Capsule is used to treat a range of bacterial infections, including infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, intestines, skin and certain sexually transmitted infections.
It contains doxycycline, an antibiotic, and lactobacillus, a probiotic that helps maintain healthy gut bacteria during antibiotic treatment. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed and complete the full course, even if you start feeling better before it is finished. Take each dose with a full glass of water and remain upright for at least 30 minutes after taking the capsule to reduce the risk of irritation to the food pipe (oesophagus).
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight while taking this medicine, as doxycycline can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight; use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Avoid taking this medicine at the same time as dairy products, antacids, iron supplements or calcium supplements, as they may reduce its absorption.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Also inform your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, including oral contraceptives and dietary supplements.
