Desowen Cream 10gm

Desowen Cream is used to manage various skin conditions like atopic dermatitis (eczema), seborrheic dermatitis, and contact dermatitis by reducing inflammation, redness, swelling, and itching. This medicine helps soothe dry, itchy, and inflamed skin caused by allergens, irritants, or other triggers. It is also effective for treating psoriasis, skin rashes, and other localized skin issues by calming redness, scaling, swelling, and itching.

The following directions for using Desowen Cream are based on the instructions provided on the product label. 

• Before using the cream, wash your hands properly.
• Clean and dry the affected area.
• Put a thin layer of the cream on the infected area, ensuring it covers the entire lesion.
• Gently rub the cream onto the skin until completely absorbed.
• Please wash your hands after applying it unless your hands are in the affected area.

The route of administration for Desowen Cream is topical, which means it is applied directly on the skin.

Topical steroids like desonide, an active ingredient of Desowen, have classic anti-inflammatory and itch-relieving properties. It induces the inhibitory action of proteins like "lipocortin". Lipocortin controls the production of pain mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes by stopping the release of their precursor, arachidonic acid, where prostaglandins play an important role in inflammation.

However, it's essential to be cautious with prolonged or excessive corticosteroids like desonide, as it may lead to local or systemic side effects.

• Store Desowen Cream at room temperature (15-25ºC).
• Please protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep it away from children.
• Do not use Desowen Cream after the expiry date has passed.
