CompositionEpiduo Gel is used to manage acne in adults and children aged nine years and over. It helps clear pimples, blackheads and whiteheads while calming the inflammation associated with breakouts. This gel contains adapalene, a retinoid, together with benzoyl peroxide.
Adapalene helps normalise skin cell turnover and prevent clogged pores, while benzoyl peroxide reduces acne-causing bacteria and has an anti-inflammatory effect, together clearing acne and preventing new breakouts from forming.
Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin once daily, usually in the evening, as your child's doctor advises, and continue regular use for the full course, since acne treatments generally take several weeks to show visible improvement.
Avoid applying to broken or irritated skin, and avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and nostrils. Use sun protection during the day, as this medicine can increase sensitivity to sunlight, and expect some initial dryness or peeling as your skin adjusts.
