CompositionDefcort 12 Tablet is used to manage inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. It is a single-ingredient corticosteroid containing deflazacort.
It is used for arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease and skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. Take it with food at the same time each day, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly, as the dose usually needs to be reduced gradually.
Limit salt and sweets, as this medicine can raise blood pressure and sugar, and include calcium-rich foods such as milk, curd and paneer.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have an infection, diabetes, high blood pressure or a stomach ulcer, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Longer use can raise the risk of infection, high blood pressure, high blood sugar and bone thinning. Report signs of infection or mood changes. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
