CompositionDefcort 12 Tablet is a corticosteroid used to manage a wide range of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, and certain skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. It is also used as supportive treatment in some other conditions.
It contains deflazacort. It works by reducing the release of the chemicals that cause inflammation and by calming an overactive immune system, which eases pain, swelling and allergic reactions.
Take it at the same time each day, ideally with food, and do not stop it suddenly, as the dose usually needs to be reduced gradually.
Tell your doctor about any infection, diabetes, high blood pressure or stomach ulcers before use. Longer use can raise the risk of infection, blood pressure, blood sugar and bone thinning. Report signs of infection or mood changes.
