CO2 Dry Syrup is used in children for managing respiratory infections like pneumonia, otitis media, and other bacterial conditions. It helps treat skin and soft tissue infections, infections in bones and joints, and complications like typhoid fever and gonorrhoea, offering relief from various bacterial illnesses.

To give your child CO2 Dry Syrup correctly, follow these steps:

• Mix the provided powder with water to create the syrup.

• Ensure you shake the bottle well before each use.

• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving them this medicine.

• Always complete the full course of this medicine even if your child feels better.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice on how to give this medicine to your child.

CO2 Dry Syrup is given orally to your child.

CO2 Dry Syrup contains two active ingredients:

• Cefixime (50 mg): As a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, cefixime works on bacteria by inhibiting their cell wall synthesis. It does so by binding to and inactivating certain proteins (known as penicillin-binding proteins) that are involved in the final stage of assembling the bacterial cell wall. This process weakens the cell wall, leading to cell damage and ultimately causing the death of the bacteria.

• Ofloxacin (50 mg): This ingredient, part of the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics, works by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis. Specifically, it prevents the functioning of enzymes known as DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV that are required for unwinding, replicating and resealing bacterial DNA. By inhibiting these enzymes, ofloxacin causes breaks in the bacterial chromosome which leads to cell death.

• Store the CO2 Dry Syrup in its original packaging at a temperature below 30°C.

• Protect it from direct light and moisture.

• Keep out of reach of children to ensure their safety.

• If your child is dealing with a respiratory infection, ensure they stay hydrated. Drinking fluids can help thin the mucus in the lungs, making it easier to cough up.

• For urinary tract infections, cranberry juice may help. Some studies suggest that it can prevent bacteria from sticking to the urinary tract walls. Remember, this advice is supplementary; always follow your doctor's advice for managing these conditions.
