Clopilet Tablet is used to help prevent harmful blood clots in people with heart and blood vessel disease, including those with a history of stroke. It is a single-ingredient antiplatelet medicine containing clopidogrel.
It is often prescribed after a heart attack, unstable angina or the placement of a heart stent, and helps lower the risk of heart attack and stroke. Take it at the same time each day, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it without medical advice, as stopping early can raise the risk of a clot.
Taking care to avoid cuts and injuries, and telling any doctor, dentist or pharmacist that you take an antiplatelet medicine, are useful precautions alongside this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any bleeding disorders, stomach ulcers, liver or kidney problems, or other blood-thinning medicines, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Tell your doctor or dentist that you take it before any surgery or dental work. Report any unusual or prolonged bleeding straight away. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
