Cefolac Xl 200 Tablet 10

Cefolac XL 200 Tablet is used to treat upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections. It is also effective for managing uncomplicated gonorrhea and cervical or urethral infections.

When taking Cefolac XL 200 Tablet, keep to the following instructions:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• This medicine can be taken with or without food.

• Always follow your doctor's advice regarding how long to take this medicine.

• It is crucial not to discontinue the medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Cefolac XL 200 Tablet is taken orally.

The Cefolac XL 200 Tablet contains two active antibiotics which work together:

• Cefixime (200 mg): This third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic works by binding to proteins within the bacterial cell wall, rendering them inactive. By doing so, it weakens the cell wall leading to the bacteria eventually bursting and dying.

• Cloxacillin (500 mg): As a penicillinase-resistant penicillin antibiotic, cloxacillin also targets proteins within the bacterial cell wall. It binds irreversibly to these proteins, switching off enzymes that help build the bacterial cell wall. This leads to cell breakdown and bacterial death.

By working together, cefixime and cloxacillin offer a broad-spectrum antibacterial activity that helps manage the infection effectively.

• Store your Cefolac XL 200 Tablet in a cool, dry place, ideally at room temperature, which is around 25 degrees Celsius.

• Keep the medicine away from direct sunlight and moisture to ensure its effectiveness.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children for their safety.

• Make sure to use your medicine before its expiry date to benefit from its full potency.

• If you're taking Cefolac XL 200 Tablet for respiratory infections, avoid smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke. Smoke can irritate your lungs and make symptoms worse.

• Increase your fluid intake for urinary tract infections. Drinking lots of water can help flush bacteria out of your system, helping to manage the infection.
