Carvidon Od Tablet 10

Carvidon-OD Tablet is used for the following:

• Prevention of angina attacks in adults

• Management of chronic stable angina

• Add-on therapy with other anti-anginal medicines

• Improvement of exercise tolerance in angina patients

• Delaying the onset of ischemia during physical activity

• Management of microvascular angina

• Support for coronary artery disease in diabetes patients

Follow these instructions while taking Carvidon-OD Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Take it at the same time each day for best results.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• Continue taking the tablet regularly even if you feel better.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice about your condition.

Carvidon-OD Tablet is taken orally.

Carvidon-OD Tablet contains trimetazidine (60 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Metabolic modulation: Trimetazidine shifts energy production in heart cells from fatty acid oxidation to more efficient glucose oxidation pathways, helping the heart work more efficiently.

• Oxygen demand reduction: It decreases the amount of oxygen needed by heart muscle cells, helping to protect the heart during periods of reduced blood flow.

• ATP preservation: Trimetazidine prevents drops in intracellular ATP (adenosine triphosphate) energy levels during ischemia, maintaining the heart's energy supply when blood flow is restricted.

• Cellular protection: It limits calcium overload and free radical damage to maintain proper heart cell function during stress conditions.

• Cardiac remodelling prevention: The medicine reduces thickening and scarring of heart muscle tissue, helping maintain normal heart structure and function.

• Store Carvidon-OD Tablet at room temperature (below 25°C).

• Keep the medicine protected from light and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging until ready to use.

• Keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Heart-healthy diet: Follow a diet low in saturated fats and rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to support your heart health and reduce angina (chest pain) episodes.

• Regular, moderate exercise: Engage in gentle physical activity like walking for 20-30 minutes daily to improve your heart's efficiency, but stop immediately if you experience chest pain.
