Cardace am 5 Tablet is used for the following:

• Helping to prevent severe health problems like strokes, heart attacks, and kidney issues.

• May also be used for controlling certain types of chest pain known as angina.

• Take this medicine orally with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet; swallow it whole.

• Never take more than your doctor's prescribed dose without consulting them.

The Cardace am 5 Tablet contains two active ingredients that work together to manage high blood pressure:

• Amlodipine (5 mg): This substance is a calcium channel blocker. What that means is that it inhibits the flow of calcium ions into the smooth muscle cells in your blood vessels. By doing this, it helps your blood vessels to relax and widen, which reduces the resistance to blood flow and makes it easier for your heart to pump blood.

• Ramipril (5 mg): This is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by inhibiting an enzyme in your body that converts a substance called angiotensin I into angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a compound that constricts your blood vessels and raises blood pressure. By reducing its formation, ramipril helps your blood vessels to relax and lowers your blood pressure. Moreover, ramipril also reduces the secretion of a hormone called aldosterone from the adrenal cortex, which leads to increased excretion of sodium and water from your body.
