BIFOSA 35 MG Tablet 4 is used to treat osteoporosis (weak, brittle bones) in postmenopausal women and men, helping to strengthen bones and reduce the risk of fractures. By slowing the rate at which the body breaks down bone, it helps maintain and improve bone density.
It contains alendronic sodium, a bisphosphonate. It is taken once a week: swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of plain water at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking anything other than water, or taking other medicines, and stay upright (sitting or standing) for at least 30 minutes afterwards. Do not lie down during this time.
A diet with enough calcium and vitamin D, regular weight-bearing exercise and quitting smoking support bone health alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any problems with swallowing, kidney disease, or planned dental surgery before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report new or worsening pain when swallowing, jaw pain, or unusual thigh or hip pain.
